Should you get permanent hair extensions?
If you have been wondering about getting some permanent hair extensions, you need to consider several things before you have them installed.
- What are your reasons for wanting hair extensions? If you want volume, body and length, these are all very good reasons for getting hair extensions.
- Do you have time to care for your hair properly? Permanent hair extensions require a great deal of maintenance, and so if you are not prepared to put in the extra time and care that is required to ensure that they last, then this is probably not something you should do. You will need extra time to wash (carefully), style (without excessive heat) as well as combing and detangling.
- Can you afford permanent hair extensions? They can be quite expensive – upwards of $1,000.00 in addition to an inordinate amount of time for installation. It can take over three hours to ensure proper bonding with the adhesives and proteins that are needed to attach the extensions properly.
- Will you install the extensions yourself or have them professionally installed? If you are going to spend a great deal of money on hair extensions, you can either attach them yourself or have them professionally installed. Having them done by a certified stylist will protect your investment, by making sure that it is installed properly and that it will last much longer.
- Is your hair healthy enough to support hair extensions? A simple strand test can determine this for you. If you pull a strand of hair, does it come out very easily? If so, your hair may not be strong enough to support extensions.
- Do you know of a salon that has a certified permanent hair extension installation expert? You will want to ensure that your extensions are professionally installed the first time, in order to get the best results.

no its worse if you towel dry your hairas it doesnt close yoyr hair cuiticles to make your hair more shiney blow dry on the cold setting for the last 2 minutes and for more volume either creater root lift with a large round brush or just put all your hair forward and dry like that. also if that doesnt work try and backcomb some of your roots but not the section directly on the top of your head
You can straighten it by pulling it down straight and blow up and down. Just don’t let it blow all over the place. Or maybe that’s just because my hair has a tendency to stick straight…
Exposure to heat damages the hair cuticle. Since the hair shaft is dead, once hair has been damaged it cannot repair itself. Hair dryers should be avoided but if you must use one use a diffuser and less heat.
It won’t do that much damage, but in the summertime is when you should avoid it as much as you can. The heat of the sun and the UVA rays are enough to leave your hair parched, blow-drying it would damage the ends even more. So, just braid your damp hair after a shower during summer and run around all day with it.
Its pretty hard to straighten your hair without a blowdryer or straightner….if you don’t want to spend $$ on either of them than it must not bug you THAT much…I can see how you wouldnt want to spend money on a flat iron but a blowdryer isint that expensive! You could probably get one for under 20 at wal mart…..but if you dont want to use anything i guess you could put a straightening product in your hair and when its almost dry keep brushing it out!

If you let your hair air dry, I would squeeze out all the water from your hair or most of it after you are out of the shower. Then, comb your hair with a wide-toothed comb, or a comb of your preference, and put your hair in a loose bun. you will have soft waves in your hair when you take it off after drying
